1. I’ve been reading Homunculus and it’s been sucking me in. The art, the story, the character development. Perfect.

I’ve been so addicted that I try to read it whenever I can. Most of my reading time could best take place on the train ride to work. But when I hit pages like this, I feel so awkward and skip fast to the next page, even though it means missing some dialogue. Worried I’m going to offend the people next to me.

My friend said as long as it’s an adult, I shouldn’t care. Since I know what I’m doing, and the person next to me doesn’t know the context.

Which is true, because about 90% of the four volumes I’ve read were tame and heavier on discussion. ( story deals with trepanation and the abilities some people believe are unlocked after removing sections of the skull. The main character so far has gained the ability to see the unconscious thoughts of others manifested through the monstrous changes in their appearance. This h high school girl for example looks normal but to the main character, he sees her made completely out of sand, which are upon closer inspection words/symbols of how her mother and others see her and expect her to represent.)

The main character uses a lot of psychological tricks etc to bring out the negative unconscious parts of peoples minds and gets rid of it. Which ends his seeing the homunculi of others.

This went from talking about me feeling uncomfortable to mini synopsis. Hrmm.

TO;DR
I want to read this great manga but I don’t want to offend people around me.

Also, you should go read Homunculus.
